Digital rehabilitation tools give students something concrete to work with: an activity to select, a session to observe, and a record to discuss. The learning comes from the reasoning around that experience.
Neurofit’s original education case study describes an American MOT/OTD program that brought digital cognitive practice into its curriculum. Faculty used the platform to connect teaching goals with practical experience before fieldwork.
Give the activity a clinical question
A classroom activity can start with a fictional case. Students consider the person’s goals, choose an activity, and explain what they hope to observe. They can then compare their reasoning with the activity record.
The goal is to practise asking useful questions: Why this activity? What support might be needed? What does the record show, and what still requires observation?
Explore care across settings
The same cognitive activities can support practice in person, during a live remote session, or at home between visits. For teaching, that creates a way to discuss how the setting and available support change the experience.

Learn to read the record in context
Students can review recorded activity alongside session notes and discuss the next step. A score is one part of that conversation. Task difficulty, assistance, access needs, and what the student observed also matter.
Faculty can use a fictional record to explore how a report or letter should communicate those details. Digital practice supports this teaching exercise; it does not replace supervised clinical experience.

The original case study includes this feedback from an OTD student:
“The activities are engaging with interesting and fun visuals and audio… The customizability of cursor sizing, music and sound, and sensitivity is extremely useful.”
