The challenge
Playful Strides is an Ontario pediatric OT/PT practice. The team uses Neurofit cognitive activities within its executive functioning pathway, with a focus on planning, sequencing, attention, and cognitive flexibility.
The team describes the strongest fit among children aged 5–12 on that pathway. Choosing the right activity, timing, and level of support remained part of the therapist’s work.
Use case: practice during the session
The team brings Neurofit into care in several ways:
- Repeatable activities alongside therapist-led work.
- Short activity breaks within longer therapy blocks.
- Practice at home and on non-therapy days.
- A shared starting point for conversations about strategies, pacing, and self-monitoring.
“With the right timing and context, it can really support engagement and skill-building.”
— Cathy O’Leary, OT Reg. (Ont.), Founder, Playful Strides
Use case: choosing practice for home
The team also identified limits. The case study notes that visual or fine motor challenges could make some activities less suitable. The provider needs to consider the child’s readiness, access needs, and tolerance before choosing digital practice.
What’s next
Playful Strides’ feedback has informed conversations about onboarding, caregiver involvement, activity tracking, and how digital practice fits within a busy clinic.
Individual results vary. Neurofit supports clinical judgment; it doesn't replace assessment.
